Close game down the stretch, Philly were already in the locker room thinking about the strategy for OT.

If there's one NBA team I truly don't like, it's the Spurs. Gotta admit they're good, though. Boring, but effective.

If there's one NBA team I truly don't like, it's the Spurs. Gotta admit they're good, though. Boring, but effective.
My sentiments, exactly. I used to feel this way about the old Celtics. late 70's and through the 80's.

(I was at a Pistons game vs Celtics in maybe '85. It got so quiet in that place. Some Piston with his shot that kicked way off and remember Robert Parrish? He was about to pick the rebound, but Isaiah - however the hell you spell that - comes oughta nowhere over this 7 footer's back and slammed it back. It just hushed. He had some serious hops. I rem seeing him dunking the ball (two hands), from just under the bucket. It was after the ref had blown the whistle, the play was stopped. He was standing still. Next thing I know he's hangin on the rim. Bam!

Yeah it is too bad. But we just hated that whole style of play. Effectiveness, and in our formative years you wanted to see that old ABA flash. What you got instead was dave Cowens et al. :))) Old school to the nth degree. Ironically, one of their most entertaining guys came from that team, Bob Cousy. 50s and early 60s.

But yeah. Celtics from the 70 and 80s, blah...like the Spurs now.

The All star weekend is just one month away. So is the Slam Dunk contest. Dwight is in it again. So is Rudy Gay and Lil' Nate Robinson.

..and one of these guys: Joe Alexander, Rudy Fernandez or Russell Westbrook.

Dwight is a giant with monster hops and a showman. Rudy G can jump but he aint got no charisma. Lil' Nate is.. little and he can fly.

This year's contest is gonna suck donkey's balls I'm afraid. :(

You're favorite team (Spurs) is tryin' to work things out with the Lakers.

(My older brother is a 6'5" guard, and he plays with Mo Pete et. al. in the summer, but now he's in coach mode, post achilles ruptures and age. He refers to Carmelo A as Carmela. I always laugh. He's serious. :)))
