Greatest Hits - Guns'n'roses
Irish folk greatest hits - Various artists (I'm sure there is something like this ;P )
Smash - The Offspring (to give something popular)
Thunderdome greatest hits - Various artists (I know it's far-fetched but it works for the thread I hope ;) )

I think 5 is the insufficient number in this. For me, WAY insufficient. I like almost everything. But these albums comes to my mind in an instant. They were awesome, man.

Wet Wet Wet - Lip Service

For me as well Mike Oldfield - doesn't matter which album
2) Best of Fleetwood Mac (maybe Rumours is the best album)
3) Best of Bruce Springsteen
4) Best of Bryan Adams
5) Best of Classical Music (Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi and many others ..)

of course I have many others .... but 5 is 5 ;)

The Fall: 'Hex Enduction hour'

Btw, I find many of the choices here bland and uninspiring, particularly Ilter's.
