Temat: Verbal Victory 48th meeting - report
On the 14th November Verbal Victory held its 48th meeting in Toastmasters tradition. The chilly weather and a spectrum of red and orange colored leaves falling from the trees haven’t stopped the club members from gathering at yet another successful meeting. There were even more obstacles for our dear members – this was the first meeting organized in Easy-Speak and not everyone adjusted to the new system. To warm everyone up Justyna Hołubowicz, the Toastmaster of the Evening has chosen a stimulating topic – “The Thrill”.
After a slight delay the meeting started with members sharing their thrilling stories – a near miss with a frontal collision, their best kept secrets and fast driving. As if there wasn’t enough excitement Table-Topics Master Sławomir Bzdok prepared questions with some inspiring quotations.
The main star of the evening was Joanna Chmiel presenting her first project from Advanced Communication manual - Public Relations. Joanna focused on creating goodwill for the organization, Toastmasters International, both on the side of members and guests. With very proficient delivery she was the second core member to step on the advanced communication track.
She also had the chance to be evaluated by a special guest – Kristian Rother who is the former Treasurer and Secretary and first Competent Communicator of Verbal Victory.
After all that thrill a break was due. During the leisurely 10 minutes the members discussed the upcoming Tall-Tales Contest and went back in the room for the evaluation session.
Klaudia Prasek had her debut as the General Evaluator and worked very well with her diminished team. There was much club business to be announced – Tall-Tales Contest, Membership advice, Club anniversary, St Andrew’s Day Ball and the election of a deputy Vice President Membership.
The meeting concluded with a very cheerful and exciting note – Krisitian Rother closed it filling in for the absent Club President.
