Batamindo Industrial Park

Located on the island of Batam, approximately 20 km from Singapore, Batamindo Industrial Park (BIP) is a pioneer in the industrial township concept.


BIP, a bonded zone, commenced operations in 1991, spans over 320 hectares and provides
employment for more than 70,000 Indonesians.

It has been developed as part of the Economic Co-operation Agreement within the Riau Development framework, which was signed by the governments of Singapore and
Indonesia in 1990.

Significantly, BIP was also the first industrial park in the Asia-Pacific region to be certified ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001. These awards are testaments to the Park's commitment to excellence in creating a manufacturing site that is efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly. BIP was also awarded "Significant Contributor to Batam's Economic Development" and "Best Performing Industrial Park" by then-Chairman of Batam Industrial Development Authority and current Governor of KEPRI, Bapak Ismeth Abdullah.
