Key Responsibilities

•Lead the Mechanical design of Digital Home products.
•Drive robust product quality through design process, reviews, qualification and controls.
•Lead development of products within scope of cost schedule and user experience.
•Contribute to a disruptive innovation and technology programme to enable product evolution by leveraging a deep understanding of consumer electronic trends, user needs and company strategy.
•Actively drive Industrial Design firms in the development of compelling product ID.
•Partner with Product marketing and project management to lead product “fuzzy front end”, delivering innovation and strong value proposition.
•Partner and collaborate with other functions worldwide to achieve seamless product development.
•Ensure robust qualification and launch of products in the Far East.

Qualification Requirements

•Proven track record and at least eight years experience in mechanical design of consumer electronic products.
•Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
•Detailed knowledge of plastics, injection molding and cosmetic finishes.
•Knowledge of thixomolding and sheet metal is desirable.
•Fluent in Design/Development process and tools.
•Disruptive innovation.
•Creative and self motivated.
•Team leadership skills.
•Strong communication skills.
•Strong project management skills.
•Fluent in Pro/Engineer surfacing and assembly.
•Passive and active cooling design experience.
•Thermal analysis.
•Statistical analysis (Minitab).
•Tolerance analysis.
•Availability to travel (North America & Far East.
