I would like to be "Advocate of devil" and to ask You what is difference between MBA and i.e. M.Sc.
Why MBA is sensed as something more or betther than rest of Master degrees?
To be honest... I do not know.
If there is anybody who may answer to this question...
What part of MBA knowlade is making MBA's people more prepared, skilled, handicaped, experienced, ...
Do not sense my questions as attack or what ever. I just put it on the table for open gently disscusion.

Exactly. M.Sc meand Master of Science.
It is not true that this means just "Magister".
"Magister" means just Master only, and then we have couple type of Master degree. i.e. M.Sc.
So... I repeat my Q.
What makes MBA more "top-level" that rest of Masters degrees? From education point of view this is only another kind of Master.
And, please correct me if I'm wrong, in ordinary filling, MBA is someting better than rest of.
And I'm asking for evidence and explanation why?. Just it.

I don't know what to tell You... I know that this question was prepared and is intended to provoke... but I can tell You just one thing... qualifications are important and schools too, because somebody who goes tru the school... went there instead of do other things or sitting at home and do nothing... it should be appreciated with no matter... this effort and time spent on it... everybody know how looks everything in schools, Deans, politics, exams, knowledge etc...

You said "next paper" ... after what? As far as I understand MBA can be reachd after bachelor (licencjat) level. MBA is just Master of ... Business Administration. No moer no less than Technology Master, Sicence Master ... another kind of Master degree. Not higher bud differend.
So why MBA people have handicap for reach better jobs, possitions, status?
Just the question :) ... provocation for open discusion.
Maybe people who have it (I mean MBA) may expalin me what they got (as added value) on MBA study which is not reachable for ordinary Masters with several years of experience.

I don't think so... as I see in the requirements for candidates for the MBA program they need Master Of Science diploma... e.g. for the Warsaw University You can see it here:

and as I see the same situation is for most of all "schools"... so I guess MBA is the upper level paper in the business area...

but not for "Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Zarządzania im. Leona Koźmińskiego"

But I can not find any evidence and I'm looking for answer: Lack of what part of knowladge is making M.Sc. graduated on "Główna Szkoła Handlowa" or "Wyższa Szkołą Zarządzania I Marketingu" less prepared, not so good as MBA?

Hi,

I have MSc - graduated at Warsaw University of Technology. For me (Polish) MBA gave me opportunity to learn about Economic, Account and other "soft" skills. I treat MBA as an additional training, not a huge jump in my career - frankly I was fired because of MBA studies:)
In my opinion, people who has MSc from SGH will lost their time at the Polish MBA's. It is better to go for some other trainings.
The real MBA is Harvard where for 2 years your are going to solve cases in different industry branches - so obviously "after" you are well prepared to be GM, CEO, COO etc.

To make better picture of Polish MBA's, right now in IT and Telco the MBA diplome is worth nothing. The people whose everybody is looking for are PMI,ITIL certified ones.

Wroclaw University of Economics offer Executive Master of Business Administration MSM/Executive MBA Programme, it means MBA + MSc degree. It's good idea for someone who graduate from Technical University, I think.

I used 2 in 1 hair shampoo and it didn't produce good results, but let me return to the point. I have got MBA, ITIL certificate and PRINCE2 as well and in my opinion MBA knowladge + ITIL certificate e.g. Manager's Exam in Service Support or Service Delivery complement each other quite well, don't You ?

matches good but the question was about MBA. I think, see and experience every day that either ITIL or Prince is better to have than MBA. More people with Project Managament Certification is needed - to be more precised, there is a huge gap between job applications with ITIL/Prince2 and MBA requirements.

maybe You are right regarding to a job applications, but it's strange because on MBA studies I had Project Management cours which took two full semesters and it was not easy to pass but Prince2 took a few days only and a quite easy exam on the end. THere are 2 different studies - MBA and EMBA.
MBA is possible to do right after bachelor studies. EMBA is only for well experienced people with managerial position.
THat's why there's no reason to do MBA.
EMBA is a lot more based on sharing experience with others, seting up relations, working on different cases wrote by known Profs, etc.
Good EMBA is worth of time and money spend.

Well, I think that EMBA is better then just refular Master level studies because it is for experienced Managers. In such case you have possibility to compare theory with practice. Therefore you can take more from ur studies, as you can discuss, not agree, etc... During normal studies people usually do not have expereince, so it is only theory for them - abstraction...
