2008-01-14 Agencja Prasowa Xinhua Jak podała Agencja Prasowa Xinhua, 14 stycznia, na zaproszenie wicepremiera Rzeczpospolity Polskiej Waldemara Pawlaka, premiera Rumunii Calina Popescu-Tariceanu i rządu Luksemburga, wicepremier Chin Zeng Peiyang opuścił Pekin i rozpoczął oficjalną wizytę w Polsce, Rumunii i Luksemburgu. Weźmie on udział w corocznej Konferencji Forum Gospodarki Światowej w 2008 roku.

Chinese vice premier to visit Poland, Romania, Luxembourg

BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan will pay official visits to Poland, Romania and Luxembourg, and attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, from Jan. 14 to 24, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman on Tuesday.

Spokeswoman Jiang Yu announced at a regular press conference that Zeng will pay the visits at the invitation of Vice Prime Minister of Poland Waldemar Pawlak, Prime Minister of Romania Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and the Government of Luxembourg, and attend the meeting at the invitation of Klaus Schwab, chairman of the World Economic Forum.

Zeng Peiyan

Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier.

Zeng Peiyan, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, was born in December 1938. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in September 1978 and started to work in September 1962. He graduated from the Electronics Faculty of the Radio and Electronics Department of Tsinghua University; with a university education, he holds the professional title as senior engineer (research fellow in rank).

1956-1962: Student majoring in electronics of the Radio and Electronics Department of Tsinghua University.

1962-1964: Technician of the Shanghai Electrical Appliances Institute of the First Ministry of Machine-Building Industry and chief of the Research Project Group of the Institute.

1964-1965: Technician and group leader of the Rectifier Research Office of the Xi'an Switch and Rectifier Factory under the First Ministry of Machine-Building Industry.

1965-1982: Group leader, deputy head of the office and deputy chief engineer of the Xi'an Rectifier Institute under the First Ministry of Machine-Building Industry.

1982-1984: Second secretary and first secretary of the Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in the United States.

1984-1987: Head of the General Office and concurrently director-general of the Planning and Construction Department of the Ministry of Electronics Industry.

Mr. ZHOU Zhongshu, aged 53, was appointed as the chairman and a non-executive director of the Company in October 2005. He is the president of China Minmetals Corporation (¡§China Minmetals¡¨), the chairman of each of China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Company Limited and China Minmetals H.K. (Holdings) Limited and the chairman and a non-executive director of ONFEM Holdings Limited (a company listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited). He has been the chairman of Minmetals Development Co., Ltd. (a company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange) since March 2005. Mr. Zhou has also served as a director of Peak Strategic Industries Limited, a subsidiary of the Company. He graduated from Shanghai International Studies University in the PRC and majored in Spanish language. He joined the China Minmetals Group in 1978. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Zhou was Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Spain. Mr. Zhou has over twenty years of experience in non-ferrous metals industry.
