It's time for CASE STUDIES!
What are those?
Simple, examples of emails.
They may be good/bad and anonymous.
Here is mine, from the series of "relaxed", "creative"
--------------------------------------------------
Dear X Team,
I picked up your contact from the book "Web design index by content" here in London, England.
Did you know that Chris - the GUY WITH IDEAS- is a great creative person to know?
Why?
I am good at:
- Creative experiential marketing
(he developed a successful social marketing strategy for his Uni in Europe)
- Digital video (produced 4 Promotional DVDs for European marketing tours)
- Presentation design (take a look at his latest work here)
In need of an international professional presentation,
creative marketer and digital assistant online?
No time on your hands to play around with it?
Chris Dargiewicz - the guy with ideas - CAN HELP!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
this example above illustrates that a business email does not have to be stiff and official
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Couple of notes:
1. "I picked up your contact" - I use it instead of saying: "Hi I found your website offer/etc."
in this case I went through an effort of buying a book and being active to contact them.
2. "In need of" - a very useful phrasal for creatives/freelancers
and all-around marketeers. (we are all "in need of" new projects :)
3. "I am good at" - a very straightforward way of saying "Hey, I can do this" without sounding
too general and distanced about it
4. "No time on your hands" - you are offering a way in for yourself, taking the hard work
on your shoulders. If you really sell well you can bet they will go for it in need.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
What about you?
Please tell us your experiences with [/b]writing business emails![/b]
