A German female politician used posters which showed not only her cleavage but also Ms. Merkels during her campaign in East-Berlin:

She provoked the party CDU as well as many voters and citizens.


Many of the critical comments posted on her blog came from men accusing her of sexism. One poster, who identified himself as Daniel Baltar, wrote: "Have you gone completely mad? You have declared yourself insane with such posters -- and politically disqualified yourself." But several female commentators on the blog said she had shown courage and a certain degree of irony.

What do you think of it?

pretty bizzare behaviour, considering the fact that she's a female. Surprisingly, it was a man who disagreed with this kind of advertising. Do you really think it is possible that Angela Merkel didn't know about it? I reeaally doubt it. On the other hand, Ms Merkel sounds like a reasonable politician to me, so maybe she wasn't aware of the final outcome.

a) Cicciolina, a former porn star and muse of American artist Jeff Koons, made a political career in Italy

It is in the Ukraine and in Hungary or somewhere were the ladies are actually very pretty and yes, better looking than an average Brit or Kraut gal.

I don't mind the photo, but I don't like the general message of the poster. For me it's not ironic. Bad taste and stupid, and I agree it's a political suicide.
