Research this month shows UK charities are failing to put in place robust whistleblowing arrangements with 22% not having a policy at all and 35% having whistleblowing arrangements not widely known about according to online magazine Third Sector.

At Public Concern at Work, we help organisations from across a wide range of sectors – including finance, health, retail, education amongst others, as well as the charity and voluntary sector which represents 12% of our 300 or so clients. We’re keen to help more charity clients and believe these findings are troubling, especially as the sector has faced a number of governance failures and data sharing scandals in recent years.

World Whistleblowing Day took place on 23 June. We took the opportunity to call on the construction industry to contact us if they have any concerns which may affect the greater public.

This month PCaW also intervened in a very important 'first of its kind' Court of Appeal case, Chesteron vs Nurmohamed.
