Temat: Leadership talents to be continued...
Doing some kind of a THINKING business some time ago, I decided to give it a shot and produce some kind of a leadership 'menu' (follwoing up on what Mateusz said - see previous topic).1) so we've got SELF-understanding/awareness FIRST (with clearness, or, say, clarity of vision, purpose and values!
2) then, say, 'resiliency' (being able to get things started, excite, inspire, but also manage & overcome adversity, prioritising tasks and seeking opportunities at the same time)
3) definitely, a great leader needs to be highly 'INTER'personal (a team-builder - understanding others and respecting diversity, empathic, fostering trust)
4. a 'bit' (hehe:) of a coach & motivator:) promoting HIGH performance, generating TALENTS rather than focusing on weaknesses!! that's NOT therpay that is backward-looking; coaching mus be forward-looking!
5. gooood communicator & presenter (again clarity COUNTS:) verbalising intentions with no double meanings whatsoever, being able to listen FOR understanding & manging communication flows real well
6. definitely 'client'-oriented (discovering their needs & expectations, partner & performance standards monitorer)
7. We could do with some strategic Business Acume - what's the doctor ordered:) thinking holistically; actually, LOOK AHEAD point 9 below:):)
8. Good PROJECT leader too - again promoting high performance ONLY, managing, how often, CONFLICTING priorities!!
9. Visionary! translating VISION into ACTION!
10. CHANGE 'manager' - managing transitions so that everyhting and everyone work like a charm..
To my mind, leadership is all about EXCITING others, GROUNDING them, TRANSFORMING them, to finally RELEASE Them!
Cheers,
bart
p.s. pls feel free to add more stuff to the 'menu':)
