I will go for Joe Satriani. For various reasons, but mainly because he is probably THE best at combining incredible, unimaginable technique with great song writing.

Unlike his student and friend Steve Vai, Joe's tunes are simply nice to listen to, you know - those ear-catching tunes you keep humming for hours after just one listen.

I only recently rediscovered Megadeth, not because their latest releases amazed me in any particular way, but because of their new lead guitarist: Chris Broderick.

Although I like Steve Vai's style better, there's no doubt, Yngwie is a master. I love his work.
