What’s always important when discussing music is that “the best” in music is an extremely relative term.

So why do you always criticise the tunes we post them here and ---------

Alicja, don't get so stressed out! I don't think Rafal is critising what we listen to. He's just talking about a different kind of trance he is more into I think. He has never written that our trance is commercial or simple.

call them commercial and simple and ....whatever..

This scene is not that old and when playing events you are
bound to run into those who have made history and have pushed the boundaries of this sound and helped it form it and shape it to what it is today.

This is sad that they are forgoten or in the shadow but that's life! Bill Gates also took the credit for other hundrets guys who had been before him.

These tracks are anthems. They were huge at that time! But in this music everything changes quickly and after a while they became somehow forgotten if you like. Mind you, a lot of them have been remixed again in 2007/8 like Toca Me, for example.

So I suggest that you should stick to BBC ONE than RMI cos you'd be closet to the orignal source :) BBC has done a lot of work to promote dance music to the whole nation and abroad > Ibiza. I used to listen regularly to Essential Mix & Essential Selection. Now, I my Internet connection is too slow and I don't get it on the radio.

Calling something commercial is hardly criticizing it. I am simply calling things by their name that’s all there is to it. I told you that trance is not my cup of tea, I’ve been exposed to it for a very long time now and have some knowledge of it. Also, I think that there are a lot of producers that don’t get the air time simply because they never went for the commercially produced labels, so they don’t get the hype and this is why I’ve been posting those links. Furthermore, I believe that showing you the progress and how this music has changed and matured can only help you appreciate it for the deep and complex culture that goes behind it. I am sorry that you take offense to the term “commercial” it is what it is however.

See, that’s not it, they aren’t forgotten they are huge and their music is played world wide every single day. They have made history and they keep making it. Just like I’ve said before, this is just another side of the story. This is also trance and house and goa, just not the one that you can find by simply going on google. If you think that when Tiesto plays records he only plays his own music, you are very much mistaken. I bet you anything that you have heard music by these same artists that I’ve mentioned before and had no idea, because they all go under scores of various aliases for each different project that they work on as well as when they work with others on tracks they assume other aliases. All I am trying to do is bring them forward a bit and show you this from a DJ perspective, from the inside of a DJ bag and not a radio station, a comp CD or a club party. That’s all there is to it. Every DJ and EVERY producer plays a mixture of their own music with other’s it’s a matter of you not knowing that because you are not a DJ or a producer and unless you are really into this and are digging deep to find those certain gems you would never know that. It doesn’t make you a bad person. It doesn’t make your taste in music any worst than my own. All that this means is that we probably will never run into each other at a party.

I don't take an offence I simply think it's unfair! These productions are really good!

But then you would have to bring here the whole history of music because their influences do not stem only from a bunch of DJs who played before them.
