Questions have surfaced regarding the validity of the NY MV-907A for vehicle export, and IAA has confirmed with U.S. Customs and Border Security that the MV-907A must be authenticated by the NY DMV and posted to the DMV Compass database for export to be granted. Buyers must have an account with the NY DMV and pay a fee to check the status of their MV-907A. However, IAA has access to the DMV Compass database and is willing to check the status of a MV-907A for $25 per form. MV-907A forms processed by IAA are done so electronically and should appear in the DMV compass database after 24 hours. If paper copies are submitted manually to the NY DMV, the update process may take weeks.
