Ehh... tak czytam i czytam te wypowiedzi o WoWie po polsku i tyle mam do powiedzenia, ale po polsku to jakoś źle brzmi =P, więc wybaczcie ale wybiorę mój ulubiony język (wiem wiem polskie forum, ale temat jak najbardziej angoljęzyczny =P):
The expansion was basicly a necessity for Blizz. If we assume it's a commercial company that makes money from KEEPING the people playing (the majority of which are non-raiding casuals) then it was (like TBC) an unavoidable move.
Levelling 10 more levels is essential to satisfy the aforementioned casuals, so epix going down to greens is understandable.
To people whining about that:
I don't see the big problem in "expiring epix". IMHO The whole fun of raiding is experiencing the instance (lore, tactics, cooperation, coordination etc.) with epix serving as tools enhancing your performance NOT the other way around (eg. epix being the sole FUN of it). So consider the greens from Northrend as just a new set of equipment to level to 80. (though frankly Blizz already said that greens would only be as good as Tier 4 so hardcore raiders can stay calm =P).
The new content (like someone earlier said) indeed "completes" the "old-school" lore from the Warcraft games which is kinda sad considering that ALL the previous content becomes abandonware (excluding the levelling areas). I personally don't like killing/defeating so many Warcraft heroes who were "godlike" in Warcraft in general. However knowing Blizz and their greed for our cash they'll just make up new lore (I already heard rumors from my inside source near Metzen about a Southrend dragon continent) which sounds pretty fun (especially considering that the level of retconing will fall- so less whining about it).
The new so called "Hero Classes" aren't Hero at all. The original Hero classes were meant to be ADDITIONS to our own chars. Thisnew idea is basicly a hyped-up "Alt-class" to make the more primitive lore fanbois (those who fall for cheap marketing trix go wild). I'm sceptical whether it is a good idea, especially considering how TOTALLY unbalanced PvP is (and will always be it seems).
To those who want 40 man raids- NO, not gonna happen. The whole point of making 25 mans was to open raiding to the guilds who were "casual" before TBC (eg. couldn't do 40 man instances). This has made raiding a LOT more enjoyable because you no longer require multiple guild alliances (which ALWAYS caused problems) or huge 60+ man guilds. After reading a few articles and interviews I'm also pretty sure that a LOT MORE Karazhan-style raids will be made too, since Blizz knows it's popular. So expect 25 men instances to be "top elite content" (like Hyjal and BT are now).
I DO agree about the positive aspects of TBC 5 man instances. I REALLY enjoyed the fact that you had to LEARN encounters there too, which VASTLY improved the skills of the general playerbase (trust me there is a LOT less noobs running around at 70 than there were at 60). HOWEVER I'm GREATLY disappointed with Heroic instances. TBH they're not Heroic at all- they're cake =P. I still hope they'll make Heroic Heroic instances. xD
Expansions WILL happen it's normal. What people seem to forget is that World of Warcraft is NOT a game for us, but a game for Blizz. It's what earns them milions that's why they do what gives PROFIT and NOT what we want. It may be a contradictory statement but it's obvious that Blizz only cares about their money and prolonging the game for casuals is what produces most of it =P.
Heh, sorry for the long post and the english, but talking about WoW in Polish is so "painful", so many ridiculously sounding translations ruin the effect of my posts =P.
