Verbal Victory was a proud host to another meeting in Toastmasters tradition on 28th March. The evening had a killer theme – Evaluations. We were all excited to know more about the possibility of expanding our knowledge on this secret treasure of Toastmasters.

The meeting began an hour early with a speechcraft from Successful Club Series titled “Evaluate to Motivate” presented by our club’s most achieved speaker and president, Jerzy Zientkowski. He also later advised us during a workshop segment on different methods of giving constructive feedback. This extraordinary part of the meeting ended with Julian Szumowski giving his evaluation of the prompted speech from TEDtalks.

The crowded agenda that evening continued with Table Topics session led by Ania Philips. The contestants used their imagination to warn people in the building about a fire or chat up a beautiful girl. There were two prepared speeches – first by Justyna Hołubowicz on being a mentee and second by Julian Szumowski on taking action in life.

After the break there was an opportunity for General Evaluator, Konrad Wielgosz, and his team to use the evaluation techniques from the speechcraft session. Table Topics were won by our guest, Jean-Paul.

Later in the week members of our club had a chance to participate in the speech contest at the Polish club. This was a great experience for us and we’re thankful for the invitation from Ania Milcarek, President of the Polish Club.
