The Information Management (IM) department of the European Patent Office (EPO) is responsible for all internal automation services, including the set-up and maintenance of information systems and the development and management of EPO tools. Headed by the Chief Information Officer (CIO), IM provides a centralised and co-ordinated voice on all aspects of automation.

Directorate Corporate Applications (CA) is responsible for the development and maintenance of, and the provision of third-level support for, corporate applications which do not directly support the patent granting administrative process. Its three departments have the following responsibilities:

- Finance and HR Applications (FINHR) provides solutions and services for human resources and finance/procurement (mainly based on SAP and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software)
-Corporate Central Services Support (CCSS) provides services such as case, document or web content management, questionnaires for corporate business areas (outside FINHR and BITS).
-Business Intelligence Technical Services (BITS) provides services such as business intelligence and data warehousing

CA now has a vacancy in Munich for a highly motivated information systems consultant (service design/modelling & definition) who will support its three departments in the harmonised implementation of the new service catalogue and a service-driven automation and delivery process.
