This posting is for a Cloud Software Engineer in the GE Power, Water & Distributed Power, Services & Analytics team at the EDC. Successful candidate will work to discover knowledge in Industrial Internet of Things data and to develop RM&D cloud based solutions. Essential part of our work are Software, Data Science and Data Analytics operations. We are multidisciplinary team employing enthusiastic and knowledgeable Engineers and we are looking forward to hire skilled candidates having solid industrial experience in writing code for Cloud.GE’s distributed power solutions provide businesses and communities the ability to generate reliable and efficient power at or near the point of use. Our products cover power generation, compression and mechanical and heat recovery applications from 120KW-10 MW, featuring fast, flexible and reliable gas engines fueled by liquid and gaseous fuels with efficiencies up to 95 percent.
Responsibilities
• Write code for Cloud based RM&D, Analytics and Big Data solutions in close cooperation with the service engineering
• Follow modern Software Development and Design practices (including Agile methods)
• Provide technical input at detailed level to senior engineers for inclusion into guidelines and standard design practices
• Continuously communicate with technology/service engineering, service and sourcing departments to ensure efficient project execution
• Contribute performance improvements and ideas to constant processes simplification
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications / Requirements
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related
• Experience in software development for Cloud
• Object oriented programming in Java for Cloud
• Front end development in JavaScript (with HTML5 and CSS3)
• Ability to discuss and advocate Algorithms
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a global team environment
• Candidate must be thorough, accurate, and be able to communicate effectively both to technical and non-technical audiences
Desired
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field
• Experience with Scala, C++, C# or Python
• Previous exposure to Scrum
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with Cloud Foundry
• Experience with Statistical and analytic programming design and technologies (Matlab, R, etc.)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent English written & verbal skills
