The Indian informatics’ company Infosys will take over The European Accountants’ Service Centre in Łódź. The new owner heralds that he will keep the former level of employment an the development of the Łódź centre.
In July the Royal Phillips Electronics signed the contract concerning the sale and the service of the three of its call centers including this of the European Accountants’ Service Centre with the premises in Łódź with the Indian concern Infosys Technologies in Amsterdam. The contract will be binding since 1 October 2007. The Infosys BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) will provide the financial and accountancy service and the services connected to Phillips’ orders processing for seven years. The contract is worth 250 millions USD.
- We signed the long term contract with the Phillips and from Łódź we will do accounts of our partner. We are going to keep our all employees and to remain for a long time in Łódź, afterwards,, due to the fact , we have been friendly received there - said Amitabh Chandry.
In Łódź centre is employed more than 800 people- the specialists of such the domains as finance, accountancy and financial control. Since October they will become workers of the Infosys.
- The Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency coopered in servicing the concern entering Łódź. “ The giant entry”, as is unquestionably the Infosys will not be unheard in India and surely will authenticate Poland in the eyes of other investors who are concerning the investments in Europe - stated Dariusz Karwowski, the Main Specialist in Fareast Section of the Agency. - The current strategy of Indian companies is so called “ near shoring” policy, what means the localization of call centers in the neighborhood of clients served - he added.
The Infosys’ representatives herald the creation of “centre of excellence” in the domain of finance and accountancy and the service of purchases in Łódź. The are going to introduce new services and widen these ones which already exist in the centre. They count that within the next year they win new clients. The building and the plot will still be the property of the Philips which is interested in selling the complex.
- The municipal authorities do not conceal the satisfaction of winning the new investor. It is the investor who suits perfectly to the Łódź’s strategy of development. It will be operating in the business that is the priority to our so called “business base”- emphasized the Vice President of Łódź Marek Michalik.
It is worth counting on the Indian investments, due the fact that India are unquestioned leader of informatics’ services in the world in the scope of IT/BPO, exporting its informatics’ services which are worth more than 31 billions USD- added Dariusz Karwowski.
The Infosys is the second largest company in India of the consultancy business and computers-it defines, designs and supplies the solutions for the IT and business.
It employs 75 thousands employees in more than 60 countries. The company is numbered to the first fifth of the business in the world. The company’s income in the last year achieved more than 3.3 billions USD. The Unfosys took over as well two other call centers of the Netherlands’ concern situated in Chennai (India) and in Bangkok (Thailand).
