Are you ready?

Got your fingers on the plus and minus button?

Let's go crazy for Aleksandra Pogorzalska! (whom I still haven't met despite the fact she lives about 5 km from me. I guess we're both a bit shy... maybe one day!)

Got your fingers on the plus and minus button?

Let's go crazy for Aleksandra Pogorzalska! (whom I still haven't met despite the fact she lives about 5 km from me. I guess we're both a bit shy... maybe one day!)

A plus for Ola!-

1.What is a small daily pleasure you wouldn't do without?

Rating posts on GL... :) Can I name two? The morning coffee in bed. And almost daily evening/night Skype sessions trying to make up to my friends for the time I neglected them.

2.Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Do you agree with his statement; why or why not?

Look up Darwin Awards. Imagination alone isn't enough - you've got to have some basic knowledge of the laws of nature at least!

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?

In Poland? It means nothing to most people. I learned what it means to be a patriot (and a local patriot) in the States, where people take pride in being a part of their country. In Poland they let their dogs crap all over the neighborhood, never notice someone trying to rob you, and complain they live in a shitty place.

4.If you were given an opportunity to become an owner of one famous work of art, what would you choose? (pictures and/or links are welcome).

Anything by Van Gogh. Seriously, just anything!

5.Which of your favourite childhood games would you like to play now?

Checkers. Play with my son every day and he's getting really good!

1. Coffee! Oh, and recently stupid FB quizzes as well.

2. Both are important. Both are very essential for any change, innovation and progress.

3. Breaking the friggin' vicious circle of indifference and conformism in social situations. We're a great nation and a poor society, as C.K. Norwid said. I can't imagine being a patriot without being an aware citizen first.

4. I'd love to exchange Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss' poster on my door and a pocket book with details of 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' by Bosch for the original ones.

5. Państwa i miasta!

Thank you, Ola.

1. Coffee for me too.

2. I don't think I'll disagree with Einstein. He's Einstein . I have seen how perseverance can be more important than knowledge, various types of intelligence, imagination.

3. I don't think I can speak to patriotism.

4. It depends on "which way the wind is blowing" for me. Generally, I like vivid color and light work in painting. Rembrandt would be an obvious choice, but I like Diego Velazquez more. "The Water Carrier of Seville" comes to mind as a good example. You wouldn't hurt my feelings if you were to buy me a Michaelangelo sculpture.

5. I suppose I still play my childhood games from age 10 in some of the sports. I'm bigger and faster now, though, and I weigh a lot more. So it hurts a lot more when I fall.Joj Y. edytował(a) ten post dnia 29.05.09 o godzinie 04:58

PLUS of course

Let's go crazy for Aleksandra Pogorzalska! (whom I still haven't met despite the fact she lives about 5 km from me. I guess we're both a bit shy... maybe one day!)

1.What is a small daily pleasure you wouldn't do without?

Piece of chocolate

2.Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Do you agree with his statement; why or why not?

No, I don't think it is more important. They should go together. Too much of imagination may lead to you to trouble, too much of knowledge may miss that "little something".

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?

I don't know. Maybe just to be proud of my nationality no matter where I am.

4.If you were given an opportunity to become an owner of one famous work of art, what would you choose? (pictures and/or links are welcome).

Blue Mosque in Istanbul - I wouldn't mind that.

5.Which of your favourite childhood games would you like to play now?

MAFIA :)

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?
Tough one. ALl I know is that I'm not a patriot.

Of course. Wihout imagination, there won't be any knowledge..-

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?
As one of soldier who fought in The Second World War said: "Before the war we used to be interested only in girls and cigarettes". So I thinks that true patriotism can be shown only under special circumstances. Normally it should be just kind of respect.

4.If you were given an opportunity to become an owner of one famous work of art, what would you choose? (pictures and/or links are welcome).

both are important. I have nothing more to say :-D
3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?
Auntie Wiki says that "Patriotism is defined as love of and/or devotion to one's country". Agreed, but who does devote himself to his country nowdays? I wonder if someone only loves his country isn't a ptriot anymore? and if loves more then one conutry isn't a patriot too?

2.Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Do you agree with his statement; why or why not?

I agree becuase sometimes I can imagine things that I desire. Imagination is like a dream and sometimes whishes what I want to achieve.
3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?

For me the most import thing is to know your history, promote your country around your foreign friends (which I do and I have lots of visits).

1.What is a small daily pleasure you wouldn't do without?

2.Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Do you agree with his statement; why or why not?
Knowledge is strictly connected with reason and makes people think reasonably , in an ordered, predictable way. Imagination, on the other hand, helps people go beyond set rules and invent or discover something, unknown before.Imagination makes the world go ahead.

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?
The meaning of this word has changed considerably over the the last decades. For me being a patriot means being proud of one´s nationality and showing this around.

Knowledge is valuable but without imagination and awarness that something is impossible we wouldn't be where we are now..
(more that 80% of all inventions)

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?

Thanks for the questions :)

1.What is a small daily pleasure you wouldn't do without?
A big latte about 6 a.m. And the quiet hour of reading newspapers until everyone wakes up. Sometimes a walk in the very morning.

2.Albert Einstein once said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” Do you agree with his statement; why or why not?
It is the question of being creative or not. You can put the society in the Gauss curve. Majority in the middle has knowledge, but 5% with imagination knows how to use it in new ways. They lead the world and are not afraid of changes.

3.What do you ćonsider being a patriot means nowadays?
Same as always. What does mean nowadays? Nothing has really changed apart that we just a little bit more believe that today nobody shall forget about us in case of a war threat which may happen within the horizon of one generation - like limited raw materials or the water finishing.

Being a patriot in times of peace means to me something totally different than Marcinkiewicz working for Goldman Sachs.
Be loyal to the interests of your own country everywhere and always. Just like our neighbours do. Remain confident in negotiations, pay taxes and never complain for your country when you are abroad.
