Tuenti is the leading Spanish social network. The most trafficked website in the country (comScore).

Main role was to produce highly maintainable, clean and extensible object-oriented code, build products that work fast and flawlessly and eliminate any problem as soon as they are discovered.

Main Projects:

• Designed and implemented an extensible object-oriented API for Credentials (PHP & MySQL).
• Designed an innovative architecture to increase rendering time up to ~30%. The system consisted in a client-side template engine which inserted JSON data requested via AJAX in preloaded HTML templates
• Implemented a zero-case module to engage users after signup. Increased activity of new users in ~40%.
• Designed a client/server registration architecture. Supporting the Tuenti Messenger project and unifying client-side feedback. (JavaScript, PHP, Design Patterns).
• Kept code coverage higher than 90% with unit, integration and acceptance tests (PHPUnit).
• Log stats of site usage, registration processes and user tendencies. Wrote server side scripts to populate data from stats to Google Spreadsheet (Hive-Hadoop, Pig, PHP).
• Worked on the side-wide refresh under SCRUM, developing the Profile, Friends importer and Settings.
• Implemented and maintained features for the mobile website taking into account all the possible devices.


Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain product and technical features of the Tuenti web application in PHP5 and JavaScript.
• Design, implement, and maintain the data layer for scalability, reliability and high concurrency.
• Re-factor existing PHP and JavaScript code to improve it following most common design patterns.
• Analyze and eliminate security vulnerabilities and bottlenecks.
• Debug and fix issues on the web and mobile websites, based on user reports.

Structured and re-organized the information and communication channels and tools of the European organization. The main focus was to create a new website for JADE, the implementation of the corporate rebranding, together with the day-to-day communication challenges linked to knowledge management, mailing lists and social media applications.
• Consultant of the JE.NET project, a platform to exchange knowledge and projects amongst Junior Enterprises worldwide. Most of my considerations were taken into account. The project succeeded

• Offered effective low-cost solutions to meet requirements of minimal operation budget. The solutions were always presented to JADE Executive Board.
• During this work, all documents and results were presented in different European conferences in English, JADE’s official business language, developing excellent communication skills.

• Awarded with the Leonardo da Vinci scholarship from the European Commission.

Become a member in this start-up in the third year of University and managed it for 2 years while studying the BSc and MSc. Coordinated several projects on Website development, Network management, and Technical support which made the company grow to hire and manage over 25 employees and increase incomes in 700%. Named honorary member at GCC.

• Organized an international congress in Gran Canaria about technology and entrepreneurship , gathering more than 150 European entrepreneurs. Interviewed by the press to talk about young entrepreneurs, technology, and the event we were organizing.
• Demonstrated success leading and mentoring cross-functional teams in multi-facility environments in order to maximize levels of productivity, while forming cohesive and motivated team environments.
