Senior Database Administrator
- Responsible for database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, high-availability strategies with Oracle 9I, 10G & 11G in a 24x7 production environment.
- Working with Oracle on Windows & UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HP, LINUX) Operating systems, oracle database installation on these platforms including Oracle Client software and DBA tool software such as OEM, Grid Control etc.
- Support to Application Teams.
- Develop and implement replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies.
- RMAN utility for backup/cloning of databases.
- Creating and implementing scripts using UNIX shell, Window bat, SQL, PLSQL and/or batch jobs for DB monitoring, DB refreshes and day to day DBA task.
- Proactively monitor production databases. Resolve locking conflicts/blocking and resource utilization.
- Administer, maintain, develop and recommend policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of databases.
- Responsible for large databases with high transaction volume in a fast-paced production environment.
- Maintaining high-availability systems in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Responsible for Oracle data guard and replication.
- Responsible for identify and resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and other distributed data issues.
- Apply/coordinate Oracle provided patches for bug fixes and recommended upgrades.
- Coordinate and perform database migrations across platforms.
- Responsible for database backup and recovery, 24 x 7 support, periodic database maintenance activities, database performance tuning.
- Good knowledge of Oracle utilities such as RMAN, OEM, Intelligent Agent, Grid Control, STATSPACK, Log Miner and transportable table spaces.
- Responsible to configure/maintain Oracle 10G/11G RAC/data guard implementations.
- SQL Server production DBA experience.
