Non-visual signals in the mouse primary visual cortex (V1)
The aim of the internship was to acquire knowledge about two photon calcium imaging and its implementation in a behavioral tasks.

The aim of a short-term project was to discover if populations of V1 neurons are able to represent tactile (whisker) stimuli.

Techniques used:
Two-photon calcium imaging in awake behaving mice.
Injections of neuronal activity markers using viral vectors.
Development of a behavioral task.
Neuronal coding and integration of temporal patterns in the barrel cortex
The project aimed to unveil if individual tactile neurons are able to convey information about sequences of stimuli.

Its results were published in my PhD thesis and two following articles: "Variable Temporal Integration of Stimulus Patterns in the Mouse Barrel Cortex " and "Learning and recognition of tactile temporal sequences by mice and humans".

Techniques used:
Patch clamp in vivo in anesthetized and behaving mice.
Histological recovery of recorded neurons.
Development of the behavioral taks.
