This week we're discussing job and employment issues. We'd like to pick your brains on this application, which was submitted to McDonald's by a 17-year-old boy. The rumour is that he was hired for being funny and honest!

a severance package - pay and benefits an employee receives when he or she leaves a company
to haggle - to argue about the details of something
hostility - unfriendly or threatening behaviour or feelings towards someone
to suck - (VERY INFORMAL, POSSIBLY OFFENSIVE) to be very bad, very annoying etc.
